Mistrust In U.s. And India Impacts Chinese Telecom Equipment Suppliers

There are rising concerns in the United States and India over perceived security risks associated with using telecommunications equipment made in China, potentially slowing global sales growth for Chinas major gear makers, according to china market research experts iSuppli Corp.
Citing concerns over espionage, a group of U.S. senators last week asked the Obama administration to review a bid from Chinas Huawei Technologies to supply telecommunications gear to Sprint Nextel. Meanwhile, Huawei and fellow Chinese equipment maker ZTE reported that the Indian government has started blocking purchase orders placed with them in mid-February.
According to iSupplis market intelligence; the stakes are enormous as the combined global market for wired and wireless infrastructure telecommunications gear expected to amount to exceed $65 billion in 2010, and rise to more than $83 billion in 2014.
Obstacles in India

Indias move to obstruct the orders from the Chinese telecommunications has kicked off a sequence of events that resulted in billions of dollars of lost revenue for global telecom market vendors and significant project delays for Indias telecom service providers, said Lee Ratliff, Senior Analyst (Broadband & Digital Home) at iSuppli. Indias concern stems from suspicions that foreign-made equipment particularly Chinese gear represents a significant security risk given the possibility that sensitive information could be transmitted to foreign governments through firmware back doors.
As pieced together from accounts given by numerous service providers and equipment vendors, India started requiring all equipment purchase orders to be reviewed by the government for approval before allowing authorization. While Western vendors experienced severe delays in the approval process, Chinese vendors purchase orders were rejected outright. However, India has never acknowledged that a ban existed, and says simply that orders were put on indefinite hold while being investigated.
Indias Economic Times said that, until June end, a total of 450 orders amounting to more than $2 billion had been put on hold due to the security clearance process. Of these, 27 had been approved all with Western vendors like Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson and Nokia Siemens Networks.
In May, Indias state-run telephone company BSNL announced that Huawei and ZTE would be excluded from bidding on a $500 million GSM expansion project. This was mostly to avoid delays because of the security clearance process. The decision came despite the fact that BSNL had chosen Huawei as a GSM vendor for a project earlier in the year that had since then been cancelled, telecom market research from iSuppli indicated.
Road block in U.S.

Chinese telecommunications gear makers have been facing obstacles when doing business in the United States even before the recent concerns expressed by the senators.

Huawei and ZTE rank among the top telecom equipment vendors globally, but neither has been able to crack the U.S. market despite more than a decade of effort, Lee Ratliff said.

Lingering concerns over security have reportedly led the U.S. government to ban transmission of its sensitive data over networks using Chinese equipment. A 2008 Pentagon report to Congress highlighted Huaweis links to the Chinese government, furthering concerns. Huaweis efforts to buy its way into the U.S. market through acquisitions of 3COM, 2Wire, and Motorolas wireless unit have all been scuttled due to concerns of a U.S. government veto.

Fair or not, Huaweis opaque ownership and structure, as well as its CEOs well-known ties to the Peoples Liberation Army and the Communist party, are likely to handicap the company in India, the United States and other countries at least until Huawei becomes considerably more transparent and consciously distances itself from Beijing.
Growth Inhibitor

The key elements that have made Chinese vendors successful inexpensive labor, a home-field advantage in Chinas hot telecom market, and access to an almost unlimited line of credit though government banks are unlikely to disappear any time soon, Lee Ratliff said.

However, the vendors face serious opposition in several of the largest markets left to penetrate. Having already picked the low-hanging fruit, these companies may find it more difficult to grow in the future than they have in the past. And each pause on the way to growth for the Chinese companies is an opportunity instead for Western vendors to get back on their feet and adjust to the new competition.

Telecommunications Public Relations Firm Can Help Companies Maintain An Edge

In todays uncertain economic, it is incredibly difficult to find a sure thing. It seems like all the old rules that related to employment are no longer true. For example, recent law school graduates are having a tough time finding employment once they pass the state bar and start looking for a full time job. It used to be, not even that long ago, that a law school diploma and a successful bar examination meant that recent law school graduates were all but guaranteed to be successful. They could depend on a six figure salary right out of the gate, and could afford all the finer things in life, like fancy clothes, and fine dining, when during their school years they gorged on microwaveable Chinese food and were barely able to make ends meet. Thus it comes as something of a shock in this day and age that individuals who have all the qualifications for success do not breakthrough, and forced to take demeaning manual labor jobs just to be able to put food on the table.

Thus, it comes as something of a shock to discover that the telecommunications industry is faring quite well considering the circumstances they find themselves in. It should be said once again that industries that perform necessary services will weather any financial storm, because people will always need their services. These lucky industries include obvious choices such as oil, electricity, gas, super markets, and the telecommunications industry. Telecommunications is an important industry, because no matter how bad things get in the economy, they will undoubtedly want to be able to talk to their friends in far off lands to discuss their problems. This incredible spirit of community is what helps the telecommunications industry to survive any financial recession, including the current one that is ailing so many industries.

But even in times of relative success, the telecommunications industry has to prepare for the worst, in the event of a sudden shift in public spending habits that can hurt their respective bottom lines. This is why so many telecommunications companies have sought the services of a highly respected and well thought of telecommunications public relations firm to help them ensure that they keep their reputations up to snuff. This is incredibly important in any industry, but especially in the field of telecommunications. This is because people want to be sure they are getting the most value for their dollar, so they can still afford the essentials in this life. That is exactly why so many telecommunications firms have employed a highly respected and well thought of telecommunications public relations firm to help them maintain a veritable strong hold over their industry.

There are a number of ways that a highly respected and well thought of telecommunications public relations firm can influence public opinion so that it benefits their clients. One of the most surprising methods of influence that a telecommunications public relations firm can use today is social media. Social media has changed the way people interact with one another. So it should come as no surprise that telecommunications public relations firm have changed the way they pass along their message. They want it to seem organic, so that is precisely why telecommunications public relations firms use social media. The immediacy of social media allows telecommunications public relations firms the flexibility that they absolutely need to be able to adapt to peoples changing tastes, so they can get the message across.

Open Sap Jobs In The Telecommunications Sector

The telecommunications sector in the United Kingdom is an interesting blend of technology, business practices, and customer service. Unlike other fields where one aspect is more important than the others, telecommunications requires that all three pistons be firing at the same strength. Mobile phone, data streaming, and multi-service firms in telecommunications are all competing with each other to increase their market share and develop a strong public profile. In this way, any edge that a company can gain over the competition is vital to long term success. One tool that has become trendy over the last few years among telecomm companies is the use of SAP software. SAP software is multi-faceted, providing a user with resources for database construction, web design, and strategic planning.

Telecommunications firms may think that simply buying into the SAP trend is enough to set them apart. A car cannot run without a driver and a SAP program cannot be installed without a talented consultant. SAP consultants and programmers have a very specific set of skills that allow them to turn an average telecommunications company into an industry leader. These professionals help integrate SAP software into current computing equipment, easing the transition from old programs into the new. As such, young professionals with an interest in a long career in IT should consider gaining expertise in SAP.

Companies in the telecommunications sector are approaching SAP consultants from two different angles. Larger firms that want to have a constant presence in their IT department hire permanent SAP consultants to ensure that their systems are running at optimal rates. Smaller firms or those who are trying to cut back on funding a bit contract out for project consultants, who come in to install and assess SAP systems from time to time. There are virtues in both of these paths for the average IT professional but both lead to a lucrative career in the future.

Even with the dearth of professionals who have extensive knowledge of SAP, the job market is highly competitive. The highly refined and dynamic skills needed to fully understand the power of SAP software has not been fully appreciated by most IT professionals. For those who possess these skills, however, there are plenty of career opportunities available. These professionals need to consider wisely each professional decision, as it will affect their opportunities down the road. A good first step for a young SAP professional can mean a lifetime of financially and personally lucrative work.
